Rubber SC-Fenders in stock

Rubber SC-Fenders in standard sizes are typically kept in stock for fast worldwide dispatch. See the square fenders collection for available dimensions. Custom sizes or dimensions can be supplied on request.

Rubber SC-Fenders information:

Square fenders are produced in various designs and sizes and they can be used for a wide range of purposes. The production takes place by means of extrusion. When compared to D- fenders, square fenders are used when a more rigid and stronger bumper is required for use in more severe conditions.FenderTec produces square fenders in a standard range and most common sizes are kept in stock and can be delivered at short notice. Customer specific sizes and designs can also be produced with short lead times. Square fenders with a smaller dimension can be produced in very long lengths and in other colours (non-marking).

Square fenders can be mounted in several ways by means of bolts and/or strips. The mounting holes required are made through the side or through the top and bottom of the fender. The fenders are finished in accordance with your requirements and drawings. Square fenders can also be produced vulcanised in a specific radius to ensure that it fits properly around a bow or stern of a ship. Square fenders can be provided in specified lengths and the ends can be bevelled.

FAQ

What are Rubber SC-Fenders (square fender)?

Rubber SC-Fenders are square shaped fender units manufactured from a resilient rubber compound. They are designed to absorb and redistribute impact energy between vessels and berthing structures. The square profile provides a consistent contact face and predictable deflection characteristics under load. These fenders are used where a compact, robust bumper with a flat contact area is required. Material selection and compound formulation influence abrasion resistance, compression properties and service life.

What are square shaped fenders used for?

Square shaped fenders are used to protect hulls, quay walls, pontoons and floating platforms from contact damage during berthing and mooring operations. They serve as an interface that reduces structural stresses and limits localised impact loads. Applications include vessel-to-berth and vessel-to-vessel cushioning where a flat contact face and stable seating are advantageous. Selection depends on expected impacts, installation geometry and environmental exposure.

How are Rubber SC-Fenders typically installed?

Installation methods for Rubber SC-Fenders vary with application and mounting substrate. Common approaches include bolting to backing plates, fixing with structural anchors or integrating into recessed housings on quay faces. Proper installation requires correct alignment, adequate backing support and compatible fasteners sized for the expected loads. Installation should follow manufacturer guidance and structural design criteria. For application-specific recommendations and mounting details, you can contact our team for technical advice.

How should square fenders be inspected and maintained?

Inspection and maintenance focus on identifying wear, deformation, cuts, abrasion and fixing integrity. Regular visual checks should verify that contact surfaces remain intact and that anchors or backing plates are secure. Cleaning to remove debris and corrosive deposits can help prolong service life; avoid aggressive solvents that may affect the rubber compound. Replace fenders that show excessive cracking, permanent deformation or compromised fixings. For maintenance schedules tailored to operating conditions, contact our team for guidance.
