What is a D fender
A D fender is a rubber protection element used to reduce damage when two surfaces come into contact. It is called a D fender because of its simple D-shaped form.
When a vessel, vehicle or structure presses against a D fender, the rubber absorbs part of the impact. This helps protect both sides from damage, wear or abrasion.
Where are D fenders used
D fenders are used in locations where repeated contact occurs between moving objects and fixed structures. They are commonly applied in marine environments, industrial areas and logistics facilities.
Because of their simple shape and reliable performance, D type rubber fenders are suitable for many everyday protection applications where controlled contact is expected.
D fenders for docks
D fenders for docks are installed along quay walls, harbour edges and dock structures. In these locations, vessels regularly come into contact with the dock during berthing, mooring or loading operations.
The term dock can also refer to loading docks on land. In these applications, D fenders are used to protect buildings, loading bays and vehicles such as trucks or trailers during docking and reversing.
Whether used at a harbour or at a loading dock, dock D fenders help reduce impact damage and protect both the structure and the object making contact.
D fenders for boats and ships
Marine D fenders are widely used on boats and ships to provide protection during contact with docks, quays or other vessels. When mounted on a vessel, a D fender acts as a protective buffer along the hull.
D fenders for boats are often used where simple, robust protection is required. For ships, marine D fenders help reduce damage during berthing operations and repeated side contact in ports and harbours.
Because of their durability and straightforward design, D fenders for ships and boats are suitable for both light-duty and heavy-duty marine applications.
Custom D fenders
In some situations, standard D fenders do not fully meet the requirements of an application. In these cases, custom D fenders can be supplied to match specific dimensions or installation conditions.
Custom D fenders are commonly used in industrial, marine and dock applications where tailored protection is needed without changing the basic function of the D fender.
